Just got started on this project. Where are you gentlemen getting your figures?

This is a DEFINITIVE range of excellent sculpts with virtually all uniform types for the Mexicans and equally excellent work for the Yanqui's.

I am not the owner, nor his brother-in-law, but I was able to provide the sculptor with full information which was executed with aplomb.

You can't do any better. No brag, just fact.

Unfortunately, he passed away recently. I don't know if anyone is monitoring his site. Agree with TVAG that those figs look great!

Yes, Bill Moreno's So Far From God (SFFG) range was the only dedicated Mexican American War range and it was an amazing one. Bill made sure it was a top-notch product. My armies are all from the SFFG range and I had placed an order with him to complete the collection right when he initially became ill; I imagine my collection will remain incomplete unless someone picks up the range.

I imagine one can use proxies, perhaps Prussian landwehr for US regulars and Napoleonic French for Mexicans. Old Glory has a 10mm Alamo range that may provide some figures.

As noted, THE guy you need to see is deceased. I am under the impression that the business shut down.

I would like to pursue adding that range under my AIM label. That and the ACW ranges he had were par excellence!

I hope you can.

It would be nice to see Bill Moreno's 10mm work carry on. It was a blow to lose such a good ambassador for the hobby.

Inconceivable, The Far From God range is nice and I have both armies with these figures. But I also discovered that Old Glory 10mm British infantry with Stovepipe shaks make an excellent substitute. Same style skirmishers work well if you like individual figures. I like crowded bases with 5, 6, 8 even 10 figures on a 1 inch square base.
I was eyeballing Pendragon for US proxies: Danish infantry 1864 look fair and their Russians 1900 are close. If only they would tuck in their shirts…
French late Nap lancers for line cavalry, Rebel cavalry for Texans and Rancheros, Old Guard for Mexican Guard hussars, French cuirassiers for Mexican Tulancingo Cavalry, Polish Lancers are useful, French 1st line lancers for Mexican 1st Line cavalry (although this unit is not much used).

Note that the later shako narrows towards the top and slightly leans forward. The tiny Stovepipe shakos look very close to this. The bell shaped French type shakos were in vogue 10 years earlier at the Alamo. Some Activo or militia may still have some…
The French Bonnet de Police was popular with the Mexicans, but I don't know of any 10mm manufactures that have them.
And the OG 10mm Alamo Texans produces many useful figures. I made my Mississippi Rifles from them (gotta love that red shirt!).
The big challenge is making chaparral! N gauge RR supplies will help you out here.

Good luck, Tom. I hope you can save them from abandonment.

Thanks everyone for the input. I appreciate your help very much.

Joe, I have located someone who can deliver a message to Mrs Moreno with my contact info, thanks to a long standing friend. Fingers crossed she be willing to further Bill's efforts at a reasonable price that I can afford.
