I used to date a girl whose uncle was a 30-year US Navy veteran. He served on a lot of ships, but he was most proud of having served on the Boris. He used to wear a veteran's cap that read "USS Borie, DD 215."

One of my T22s ended up on top of a 209 class u-boat at FOST vack in the 90s when the German surfaced. Battleaxe had just "sunk" her in an ASWEX and the sub was nearly sunk for real as the frigate's props sliced up the sub's main ballast tanks
