I was able to finish my Christmas project for my grandsons ahead of schedule. Each regiment is made up of 36 figures in six companies, including one of grenadiers. There is also a mounted officer of each regiment.

They look great! May I ask what nationality? What scale? What rules set are they mounted for? Sorry for all the questions, I'm planning to start painting AWI figures next year and I'd like to know what's the preferred scale and rules for the era. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Hi Michael. These are 25mm figures from Old Glory. They are not based for any commercial rule sets. I will put together some very basic rules as my grandsons are young. They are not painted in historical colors. I used my imagination to paint them in their favorite colors. It was a lot of fun.

Brilliant! I did a similar but much less ambitious project a few years back with the old Eureka Seven Years Picnic Teddy Bears (I stuck to 12 figs per unit)

How old are your grandsons? I'm thinking of doing some of the Eureka Toytown minis for my grandson.

The Toytown minis are magic! Great idea

Here a few I did up for No 4 son when he was about five

The boys loved the regiments I gave them. We got them into action the day after Christmas with some very simple rules. Great fun. I have already ordered artillery pieces for each of them for next Christmas along with crews and limbers.
