Has anyone tried the 6mm Sci-Fi rules called MicroCosmic? They're a free download at microcosmic.games They look very good, sort of a cross between One Page Rules and Epic, being one page front and back with 5 army types. I want to get back into 6mm Sci-Fi, is this a good set? |

Don't know, but thanks for the link. I'll give them a read through soon. |

I'd have to give them a once-over, but a single page 6mm rules set sounds like a good, if highly abstract, idea. |

Well now. Pretty much what I've been looking for. I'll be using my 15mm but keep ranges as is. Thanks for posting your question! |

Is there a place where MicroCosmic is discussed? I was an Epic 40K fan, and this may be even better. I know it is tricky to choose what should be abstracted, what represented. I in general prefer abstraction, as long as a the things I want are there. MicroCosmic seems to do a good job, but there are a few things I wonder about here. Close assault is a 0 range firepower attack, so not simultaneous. On the other hand, an unactivated formation could do a snap action to fight back after. I have always thought a close assault should be risky no matter what, if you can reduce risk by suppression, outnumbering etc. "Titan" weapons are as abstracted as everything else. If I did want a bit more detail, it would be in Titans. I can let go of arcs and turns per move for titans. But I still want to arm a titan a bit more specifically. Treat titan weapons like units in a formation with the titan? On the other hand, aircraft seem to me to need just a bit more in terms of movement restrictions. They do have to move as first action and have a minimum move distance, but I wish there was a bit of a limit on turning. I know that complicates things. And I wish there were some case where non-AA weapons could fire at aircraft. You just have to ignore them if you didn't bring any. |

I guess about assault, the snap action can actually come after the move. Any time you move into range (whether 0cm or more) of an unactivated, unrouted formation, you risk getting attacked first. So still not simultaneous assault resolution, but there is definitely risk. |

Looks like there are lots of units with Flak. |
