When designing your Old West game scenarios do you base them on.
A. Actual period people.
B. Western movie characters.
C. Your own characters.
D. Mix of all three.

D + other real or fictional people (also, movie includes TV show … I'm talking about you, Mr. Carradine).

Usually the real people are 20th/21st Century people for comic effect. Famous chefs on a chuck wagon are fun. A Han Solo figure only needs a simple gunswap to be a smuggler, gambler, or general raconteur. Although, back to TV, Bret Maverick is a great foil for Mr. Solo.

All of them, but mainly C, with a lot of A to give it a historical, and the odd fictional character when I feel whimsical. The horse Jolly Jumper for instance
