Another example of H'wood's lack of originality. It's contempt for the audience is breathtaking.

Does the world really need one?

Sadly, the whole point of the original novel was that the apes took over when the humans stopped being original and innovative, because the apes were actually better at being imitative.

I think right now, all the major media companies are being run by bonobos. Those corporate presidents you see on TV? CGI, every one of them.

Hollywood is so worried about AI taking over the writing – seems they should worry that AI can do their rehashes

Still waiting for a rare King Kong remake, though.
Or Spider-Man, for that matter.
A pity, they do a remake just twice a month.

But one day I'll be lucky and they do a cross-over.

So, in which part of the future franchise do the apes develop faster-than-light spaceships and out of an accident return to Earth's past, future, or whatever to find that humans rule the Earth?
Or Spider-Men.
Or just spiders.
You know what I mean.

Yawn. Been there and done that. Last series of movies wore out the whole idea.

I think I saw this movie back in the 70's.

Spider-Man vs. King Kong, due for release in Fall 2029… ;-)

How is this different from producing new Westerns. It is just a milieu in which a story is placed. It is not a remake of one story done already, is it? If a new story, then why not.

As long as they can keep adding prepositional phrases, they'll keep making the films.
Brace yourself for "Dawn of the Day of the Battle for the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes!"
