I've now just about finished the Mont St Jean section of my Waterloo diorama by adding another 120 figures. Hope you enjoy the results:

Outside the east gate:

Burial pits:

French prisoners:

I'm reasonably pleased with the brick and mortar effect:

The ground hasn't completely dried out so the white halo effect will go:

Close ups:

Don't like the join in the road:

French prisoners looking doleful:

Dead horses dragged to burial pit:

Side gate:

More on my blog here: generalpicton.blogspot.com

Next, I'm going to complete two French battalions assaulting La Haye Sainte.

This is so awesome, don't know if any model will beat it.

Very impressive. We often forget just how many people were in a relatively small area at Waterloo. Everywhere must have been very busy.

Nice!

A simply stupendous amount of work here – so impressive. If you will excuse the cheek, I would make a suggestion about the informal figure groupings such as the prisoners or the hospital. People naturally cluster very close so an even spacing of figures can look a little unnatural. I would put those who are in some way 'together' closer so you get a collection of small knots of figures with the odd indvividual passing by.
Just a suggestion and I apologise if I have caused any offence.

No offence at all Billy, I will thicken up the prisoners as I paint more. I think the casualties in the hospital would be spaced for the obvious medical reason that if they are wounded and not dead, some space would probably be needed!

WOWZA!

Sorta reminds me of the morning after my first frat kegger…even with the horse.

Reminds me of a big-city casualty (Emergency) department in the UK, when two local teams were playing a late kick off, when the pubs had already opened early. Trust me, I have been there. Not Glasgow I do admit, not Liverpool, but even central London could be lively (luckily many a unit to take the demand).

The Surgical Casualty Occifer was a demanding job. The Medical version took to his pit as I recall and slept the night away, as no medical patient dared enter. Kids these days…eeeh
