Hello all

Looking for information on uniforms and standards of English cavalry and dragoons in the War of the Spanish Succession. Specifically I am looking for:
Parce's dragoons
Peterborough's dragoons
Killigrew's dragoons
Giscard's dragoons
Earl of Essex' dragoons
George Carpenter's dragoons or Queen's dragoons
Harvey's Horse

Any direct or indirect information is welcome. Thanks in advance :)

Charles Stewart Grant's "From Pike to Shot, 1685 to 1720", WRG 1986 lists the following coat/facing colours:
Pearce's Dragoons red/yellow
Killigrew's Dragoons red/yellow, buff waistcoat, saddle yellow edged white, white tricorn lace and buttons.
Essex's Dragoons red/light green, with light green waistcoat and saddle
Carpenter's Dragoons red/blue? red?, blue? waistcoat and saddle, yellow hat lace
Harvey's Horse red/buff, white loops on buttons down chest and pocket

Pat Condray's "A Wargamer's Guide to the Age of Marlborough" Editions Brokaw 1997 adds:
Killigrew's Dragoons, buff trousers, white hat lace, shabraque yellow trimmed white
Carpenter's Dragoons – sky blue cuffs, yellow hat lace, copper yellow buttons, blue trimmed gold shabraque.
Harvey's Horse – buff trousers, white hat lace and buttons, buff/white shabraque.

On standards Condray says Dragoon guidons were usually double tailed with the field .. in the squadron's colour … Killigrew's … had a silver double eagle and silver fringe.

I've checked Lawson's History of the Uniforms of the British Army Volume 1 but didn't find anything useful.

It is a book I'd highly recommend – the one thing is is missing is details of flags. This is the market place link TMP link

You might also want to look at
link I didn't buy it when it came out because much of the material seemed to be in the 1986 book. People who've got it might be able to comment on how good it is. I couldn't find it on Spanish Amazon but you should be able to order it from the UK (it looks to be a lot more expensive on US Amazon).

Do we have a "Wave" forming for the "Wave" (War) of the Spanish Succession era. Had three inquiring posts in last month on TMP.
