An RF/PF or Ruff/Puff officer with a Thompson from the new additions to the Gringos 40 Vietnam range in 28mm. Painted by Andy Singleton I believe

But labelled Shield Transfers! Alas that I cannot change. That Bug again!

Let me try to get the editorial staff to change the title. Happy to post more from this range.

Let me try to get the editorial staff to change the title.

How interesting. I fixed a topic title for someone else earlier, and somehow it was cloned to this topic too! grin

I foresee a bunch of these making their way to Scotland before too long.

I like it a lot but am now looking at all the little exacto knife scars on my fingertips because of the conversions I had to do before this…

Now Ged comes out with them,,,.

Nil desperandum. Thing about conversions is you can look at them and tell yourself they are unique. No-one else in the world has them, quite like yours.

I looked at the figures on the website – I was curious why they all use weapons that are from Chinese/Soviet origin [except of course the officer].

I thought the RUFF PUFFS were armed with mostly WW2 era and Korean war leftovers?

It's a shame my OCD won't let me mix the figures! Although to be honest I think I've already got a big enough queue forming from the lead pile.

I have always avoided buying figures for VC for the same reason. No problem playing NVA, just the non-uniformity thing gets to me.

thanks for all the feedback chaps..
and posiiive comments..i will indeed
cover the ARVN styled M1 and M2 armed troops these are armed with some of the other weapons used so i can cover the whole Ruff Puff spectrum and could be used for the Nhân dân tự vệ, the People's Self-Defence Force, a local village based militia organised from about 1968 onwards but some could represent the early, Diem era, Civil Guard members. They could also be used as some Revolutionary Development Cadres, who worked alongside the Civil Guard on and off to quote a mates comments..its just the start of a complex unit/s/..hope that helps…regards Ged gringo40s.com

The Popular Forces (PFs) I worked with were armed with garands, carbines and a thompson or two. This was in 1st CAG in '68-'69.

a new one. Ged tells me he is carrying a Chinese AK47 but, admitting that I know far more about Belgian HA of 1815, I think this is a Chinese Type 56. The folded bayonet, which I think I see, would confirm that.

Nicely painted though and great to see the range expanding;
