I'm a bit late to the party but I must say that contrast paints are awesome for getting a horde of rebels (all I have tried them on so far) done super fast. I imagine that all the other types of speed, express etc etc paints do a similar job.

To my mind they are worth their weight in cocky shyte and the quality of the paint job is pretty good

For a little extra work you can use SlapChop and that takes contrast to the next level.

Welcome to the light side! Do google slapchop.

Hey, thanks guys. I have seen the slapchop method of "speed painting" and if I can ever get my dry brushing to half of "Artist Opus" level I'm in.

I have got some Union troops zenithal primed so I'm interested to see how that will work.

I've been a Simple Block Painter + The Dip Technique, since the mid-90's. The new Army Painter Contrast Paints are a game changer, but they came too late for me. I am down to a couple of hundred mini's left to paint. I have 1,000+ figures painted with my usual methods. I can't justify the investment into Contrast Paints, at this point.

If I were starting over, I'd jump on Contrast Paints, with both feet! Really a no-brainer, to me. Thanks for sharing your results. Cheers!
