Hello everyone,

Which manufactory sells 5th century Saxon ships for 25mm saxon figures?

Thanks in advance,

Pascal

Look at Gripping Beast's selection of boats. They have some dark age crafts…irish and pict raiding and commerce boats I think…along with of course the viking long ships which of course are much later than the 5th century

@Daniel Pickering

Yes I saw that, but these boats have nothing to do with the drakkar, it's not possible that it didn't exist or doesn't yet exist…

Can you give us a picture of what they would look like?

I think the Gripping Beast Small Sailing Vessel would be pretty spot on. At 20cm its about 80 feet in scale length. The Saxon Sutton Hoo ship was configured similarly and measured 90 feet.

@advocate

Yes, this illustration represents a replica of the Sutton Hoo boat on a 1/2 scale.

Yes I saw that, but these saxon boats have nothing to do with the drakkar.

For fun

It is impossible that no factory has thought of making them !

I'm fairly certain that no one makes such a vessel. You may have to scratch-build one. A OOP book you may want is Dark Ages Naval Power by John Haywood. He covers the various roots of the rise of Northern European naval technology and concludes with the Vikings.

@rvandusen

"I'm fairly certain that no one makes such a vessel". Not me, I continue to look for such a model for 25mm figures.
