Recently ferreted out the old series to watch on the internet. I had forgotten that the main actor was kinda boring. Casting looks beter this time.

We had better have a shocking on screen beheading early in the show to be fair to the original. I also saw a few too many female fighting scenes for a society where women were subservient.

A society where fighting women were a fairly constant presence on the field of battle, including entire units. Archaeological evidence suggesting numbers as high as 30%:
