Today we had another try at Galleys and Galleons, to see if a couple of changes would make a better game. To see if they did, please go to this link
Enjoy! |

I like your island scenery. As for Galleys and Galleons, I bought it, read and ran thru a playtest of the mechanics but I wasn't a fan. |

Nice little game, definitely do something with activation |

I rather like the rules. They work best with players commanding 2-3 ships each. Some minor tweaks to taste can be in order! |

I am torn between semi liking it and disliking it due to the activation system. I have never liked the all or nothing activation system, which makes no sense to me whatever. Black Powder put me off immediately for the fireworks display as some units moved 3 times, and for no good reason others did nothing. I respect some folks do like these games, but I am definitely not one of them! I am so looking forward to getting Oathmark up and running Even though it has the Activation system, but if you fail, you still get to do a simple manoeuvre or shoot (slightly less well). |

The activation system is not all or nothing. If you only roll one activation dice you will never lose initiative, but you won't get to do the more exciting stuff. Even if you fail, the ship will still move straight ahead. Leave the risky activations till last (and obviously better to do them with better quality ships) |
