Please let me know what your experience was with Fernando. How much detail did you need to provide? (I'm looking for 'generic' French/British/Prussian Napoleonics, wargamer quality) Feel free to PM |

I've always had great experience with Fernando. I provide decent art of the troops---best to provide one of each type, such as a soldier, an officer and a bugler/musician, possibly a standard bearer. And any special instruction (different cuff or striping colors, etc. Also, I've always gotten a photo from Fernando when work is done, asking me if it meets my expectations. I've only had to ask for a correction once. |

Always great service and very helpful. Best to provide pictures for everything you want done. However, Napoleonic, is one they claim to be really comfortable with and has always been done well when we send them there. |

If you are looking for "wargamer quality" you will be very satisfied with Fernando Miniatures. |

The "Wargamer Quality" description isn't exactly accurate. You get what you pay for. I have gotten plenty of figures that are way above that quality wise. You need to send the best photos, artwork, or description that you can, but not too much. Keep it as simple as possible. They also do a really nice job copying figures if you send examples. They do send photos, which you can use to correct any mistakes. |

I have had really good service from them. The downside is the hassle of getting them ready to ship overseas. It gets easier the more often you do it. The other issue is that they are not as experienced with historical uniforms. I have had figures painted by painters in the UK and they are very familiar with uniforms and organization of various armies. I don't have to explain anything to them. But they are way more expensive. I think with Fernando if you go with their highest quality you tend to get more experienced painters who are familiar with the organization and uniforms of the Napoleonic period. I use the Mont-Saint-Jean website for painting instructions. I cut out the uniforms I need and place them into a small bag with the figures, the image indicates I want these figures painted that way. I put command figures, lights, grenadiers, center companies, and skirmishers in their own bags with matching figures and images. Write on the back of each image what it is, command, light company, grenadier, and center companies. I then take all the little bags for that battalion and put them in a larger bag, all bags being labeled. I wrote on the big bag facing colors and the number of figures. To save a little money I base the figures and attach the flags myself. link |

always great service and communications. Have them do 15/18mm ACW and AWI. They have a good collection of Ospreys so they can go off that or send them either sample or good instructions. For the AWI I separated them by regt, they came out awesome |

I have always included photos or images of the uniforms I want them to paint. |

I have included photos and/or samples, and have always gone for their showcase quality. Communication has been excellent, with photos of work in progress, compared against the samples I have sent. I cannot praise their service too highly. Excellent value for money, great communication. Treat them with courtesy and their response is tremendous. I have had thousands of 10mm figures painted by them, and never been disappointed. |
