I finally got these guys assembled and ready to paint. Each model is different, although I had to raid my other Wargames Atlantic spares to get some of the parts. More here link

The troops do look good! I always thought the early war British has one of the sharpest looking uniforms ever, but even with their helmets and gas masks, I like these.

I understand the British were happy to make use of snipers, though I think they were usually defensive, rather than in support of the attack.

One of the Miss Fisher Mysteries involves an Australian officer who opted to use an American M1911 pistol, rather than the British Webley. I suppose you'd need a box of Americans to pillage and plunder, if you wanted to do that.

You just need a tank to support them, then on to the green fields beyond!

Early war British uniform had a cap, not a helmet – that wasn't introduced until late 1915 and only in common use the following year.
The rifle strap should be tight when carried in action, not dangling loose – though I suppose not every muddy Tommy could be bothered with that detail.

I like the look of varied poses but it isn't really feasible to that extent in 10mm (what I have early WW1 for) and I do hate putting kits together, especially plastic ones.

Nicely done!

"The respirator-box gas masks gave me fits; getting the breathing tube to connect to the respirator box in a convincing way was the cause of much trimming, fitting and cussing." But in the end they turned out looking great.

Sigh. Now I'm going to have to buy a few boxes. These look outstanding!
