I hosted a game tonight introducing new players to wargaming. I used the FUBAR rules and did a simple panzergrenadier platoon vs airborne platoon in a ruined village.

The new players are intrigued and want to play more. FUBAR was a good intro but not a long term solution. I've played Bolt Action a lot in the past. Good beer and pretzels game but can bog down in bigger games.

I'm looking for recommendations for a fast paced WWII ruleset that is definitely more in the beer and pretzels vain. If Bolt Action is the best fit tell me what you do to speed up 4-6 player games.

Crossfire is great.

We play Rapid Fire. There was a free D/L of intro rules, "Rapid Fire for Rookies". We find them much fun. You can find them with a simple Google search…

Skirmish rules may be your best bet, this video covers a number;

IN my attempt to get new players into the hobby i have adopted a figure game version of a boardgame set of rules, which are very simple and work well.

This video covers a game, mainly infantry, which will give you a feel for the rules. The scale is not skirmish as you command multiple divisions, but i can get through a game in 2-3 hours and can teach new players in 10minutes.

This is a 3 column version of the rules;

KISS Rommel or Megablitz are other good simple rules.

Another vote for Rapid Fire. Rapid Fire Reloaded and its
supplement with optional rules is simple and quick. Both
carried by On Military Matters. $16 USD each
