Flodden, Stirling Bridge, Culloden; Marathon; Pevensey Castle (Saxon siege); Gettysburg, Antietam; Yorktown; Hastings; Cadbury Castle (possible roman siege); various other castles that were besieged; the Boyne; various others in UK and Ireland. Many others where only small portions of the area or "bits and pieces" of battle damage remain (bits from the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong, for example) + other sites of small battles.

Me, not so many (Flodden, Lewes, Towcester ?). But my wife comes from St. Albans, so visited the battlefield about once a week when she went shopping !!

forrester13 Nov 2023 5:13 a.m. PST

In the UK
Shrewsbury

Flodden

On French cycling holiday went past Pegasus Bridge when the original was still in place.

Seems a short list, maybe I can count various castles if they saw action. We tended to do castles as a child as they are more obvious targets for visits.British battlefields tend not to stand out-nowhere that gets the Waterloo or Gettysburg treatment.

Lexington & Concord
Stones River (Murfreesboro, TN)

There are several ACW battlefields that I wanted to visit but time and logistics prevented it.

Nobody has mentioned North Point in Baltimore nor Bladensburg in Maryland. I also didn't see Ft. William Henry. For another continent, Battle of Fanfa, Trifuno, Laguna, Florianopolis and Porto Alegre. While not a battle I've seen the Dutch bullet holes still present in some churches just south of Maceio.
