Apparently the Seven Years War was fought principally between Britain and France in America and India link Yes all those Prussians, Russians, Germans and Austrians weren't really fighting in Germany, no sir.

nickinsomerset07 Nov 2023 5:08 a.m. PST

Yes it was the evil empire trying to conquer the world, we must all apologize and give people money!

Tally Ho!

mildbill07 Nov 2023 5:45 a.m. PST

As Barry Lyndon said, nobody really understands what the war was all about.

Ah, the Bombastic British Communists strike again! Not only did those idiots cancel the best damn show on British TV ("Mock the Week") but now they're spreading dis/misinformation about the 7YW. What's next? Are they going to somehow say the Battle of Waterloo was a battle between colonisers and colonised?

I stopped watching them and the Communist News Network a long time ago!

Did anyone click on the link because I'm getting 404

Mark J Wilson07 Nov 2023 11:23 a.m. PST

Swampking, I'm with you on the cancellation of Mock the Week and they have the gall to keep Have I Got News for You running, which died a comedic death about 10 years ago.

steve dubgworth07 Nov 2023 12:22 p.m. PST

this was a p>ss take in a traditional style.

I liked both the shows then I loved "Rhe News Quiz" on the radio which is also still going.

mjkerner07 Nov 2023 1:29 p.m. PST

Well, if the BBC is still referring to Hamas terrorists as "militants" they can continue to go Bleeped text themselves.

Aren't reruns of Mock the Week on either Bribox or Acorn TV?

gavandjosh0207 Nov 2023 7:46 p.m. PST

Black Bull 404 for me also.

David Manley07 Nov 2023 10:45 p.m. PST

It is 404'd because there is a full stop (period) at the end of the URL in the link. Delete it and the story is revealed

Great find, 79thPA! That about sums up the BBC, CNN and MSNBC (not to mention other MSM 'news' organizations and newspapers). What a load of sh*%!

"Mock the Week" is available on YT and other places. Not sure about Bribox or Acorn.

From the article:

The Seven Years' War was a battle mainly between Britain and France about control of North America and India.

Ah yes, those dastardly 'colonial' conflicts!

It is a sad story but the framing of the conflict in strictly 'colonial' terms does a disservice to history.

But, what do you expect from the BBC? They've sucked for decades and will continue to suck – their support for Hamas is just another nail in the coffin of British media as far as I'm concerned.

I think the BBC news is going down the tubes too. So much for being a beacon of truth.

I'm still in mourning for "That was the Week that was."

But by and large, I regard video (and audio) news as entertainment. If you have facts, you write them down, and give sources.
