I went to Knuckleduster to possibly get a couple of minis for a game and wow. $7.50 USD per foot figure. When did that happen? I remember the $3.50 USD to $5 USD jump but missed this one.

Faction packs seem to be the way to go.

Their 1812 line looks reasonable

Yes, the 1812 series is still reasonable, particularly if you buy the unit packs.

The 1812 prices are more than reasonable. Which is why can't figure out the reasoning with the other range. Anyway, I'm sure I'll scare something up at Fall In vs. this purchase. I'm by no means knocking the minis, I love them. They just do not meet any realistic budget restrictions.

They've been really pushing their rules (Gunfighter's Ball), buildings, and their miniatures line. My guess is that their theory is that you would want the "official" figures for the game, plus many gamers love expediency, so they're going to buy the figures that Knuckleduster sells rather than look around for alternatives.

I get both sides. You also have to look at production costs such as sculpting and mold making. A gamer will buy 300 French line infantry. A gamer is not going to buy 300 bartenders or "not Jown Wayne" figures. I also appreciate that everyone has their own price point that they can't exceed.

They are expensive but they are also superb miniatures, they are well worth the cost in my opinion.

Just happened to look at Firelock Games metal minis for Blood and Plunder. They are $6.00 USD each for ordinary minis! More for characters.

For character figures it's worth it. For generic figures, not so much.

Firelock Games: ordinary minis indeed.

I wish they had stuck to puddle bases, the slotta bases make them hard to securely mount to thin washers. That said, I have bunch of their old and new ones.
