…That being said, if ghosts do exist, the battlefield at Gettysburg must be crawling with them. And if the video below is to be believed, two of them like to cross the street in the dark in front of moving vehicles…

I've done a Gettysburg Ghost tour. It was entertaining. Also stayed at the Cashtown Inn but didn't experience anything. Is the inn still open?

Probably just drunken reenactors :)

I slept on the field numerous times, behind the Pennsylvania Monument. Never saw a thing. Did walk through a cold spot below Barlow's Knoll in early hours.

Only experience I ever had was at Chickamauga on the anniversary of the battle. At night setting around the campfire. I heard rolling rifle volleys go from one end of the field to the other. Setting up there with the Park head ranger. Happened 3 separate times. He had no idea what it was either. We all had heard rolling volleys at the big re-enactments during 125 and 130 anniversaries, so know the sound.

That is the only time and I've slept on many fields many times.

But then, there are many places where stuff happened which don't seem to have these issues.

One of the locals in Gettysburg told me that the one place in Gettysburg that you are guaranteed to NEVER see a ghost is on a ghost tour.

At Murfreesboro/(Stones River), there's an area in the woods, that those who know where it is, call it "The cold spot". It's said that a company of infantry was moving through the woods, and came into this spot only to blunder into an artillery battery which literally at point blank range unloaded cannister/grape shot into them, essentially killing everyone.

I've been to G'burg, and yes there is energy there. Spangler's Springs is an area which I have had a couple of "unique" encounters.

Sorry Scott, those are NOT "Drunken Reenactors".

"Is the inn still open?"

Yes it is.

Looks more like something on the windshield than something by the side of the road.

You can do a lot of stuff with blurry out of focus and jittery video and editing software.
Or just a smudge on the wet window…

I stayed at the Cashtown Inn about 20 years ago. Very eerie! I had an incident with the quilt that I cannot explain or will ever forget. I think it just depends on the person and the timing for that place.

Perris, that is true! Experienced that with the gang back in the day. It ended up being the "back streets of Gettysburg " tour. As soon as the guide lifted his head and started to talk like Walter Brennan from Rio Bravo, we looked at each other. We've been had. :)
