Good. They are being named after very worthy people.

A worthy name – as a coalition general Eisenhower had a tough job balancing the highly talented and highly volatile prima donnas commanding the various forces under his overall command – he did a good job (at least the Germans should think so!)

Of course, most normal people had no idea wo Gordon was, but at Least Ike was an Army General officer who did well in a combat zone.

A great choice, a man who could manage diverse subordinates, make difficult decisions, understood logistics, and related to front line soldiers. And spent 8 years as CinC, serves as an example of a great American leader.

Gordon was a great combat officer who did much post war to heal the divide btween north and south. If you did not know. Surprised that no military base had been named for 'ike' already.

Now that that crusade is over, who, or what group gets attacked next?

How about generals that smoked? Hold on, Eisenhower smoked.

Eindecker no problem with the Indians. If one was currently named for a loyalists, I would not advocate a name change. Those from elsewhere, no.

Actually, I was sort of hoping that the recent purge would have given us Fort Tubman, AZ--a black female, sometimes called "General Tubman" and a credit to the intelligence community. Also it's not like there was a Huachuca family to complain about the renaming. But such is life in the Cultural Revolution.
