I need a new period like I need a hole in my head, but, are the Prussian uniforms of 1864 similar to the ones in 1870? |

Main difference is the helmet which was taller. However it is likely that some of the older pattern were still in use in 1870, Tally Ho! |

Do it in 6mm or 10mm and a Pickelhaube is a Pickelhaube! Go for it: an 1864/1866/1870 Prussian army will see plenty of action and it is such an interesting period that will give you great games. |

@ChrisBBB2 It may morph into 10mm since I have Prussians in that scale already. |

OK, as for the opposition, there's some scope for multi-purpose figures there too. For your basic Danish line infantry, you could go with either: - blue-grey greatcoated figures who could also serve as greatcoated Piedmontese in 1859 - dark blue tunic, dark blue kepi and light blue trousers = ACW Union infantry or Greeks for the Greco-Turkish War of 1897 (You might still want to paint a few Danish flags, even if they didn't actually carry them into action.) And who doesn't want an espingol? |
