I assume Henry falls under Beaufort, but what about Jasper? He was a major player. |

I've wondered myself. Possibly not major enough? Plenty of landed families and the Tydders were not exactly names to conjure with. I suspect Jasper looks more important now because of Henry. The genealogy people talk about "promotion by descendant." |

Only room for so many nobles in the game? |

If it is the same as the original, Beaufort counts as an heir as long as he is in play when the last Lancastrian is removed. This is to represent Henry Tudor. The blog by the designer of the new version goes into some of the rationale. The various lords represent factions – the Scrope card is given of an example of an amalgam of various people. IN the new version, only one extra noble is included – De Vere, Earl of Oxford. The 12th and 13th earls were far bigger players in the Wars than the Tudors, but they have only just been introduced to the game. Play balance is also a factor. With the various towns and royal castles in N. Wales, an additional castle would make the region even more crowded. |
