You were asked – TMP link

Not series. What's the best one-off book. (Maybe two books at most.)

And in the final round of voting…

25% said "What's the Black Library?"
19% said "none of these/no opinion"
13% said "First and Only (Gaunt's Ghosts series #1) by Dan Abnett"

There seems to have been a bit of redundancy with the options, since one of them is "Founding, The, by Dan Abnett" which is a Gaunt's Ghosts omnibus collecting the first three volumes (i.e. it includes the First and Only).

By coincidence, I am currently reading through Ghostmaker, the second book in the series (still 50 pages left to read).

Inquisitor/Draco by Ian Watson was not selected?

Heresy!
