Discourse Minis on the latest releases – disappointed for the big Warhammer anniversary, worried that The Old World releases are too much resin, too much old plastic…

She didn't mention the elephant in the room: 3D printing.

There are already people all over YouTube showing off their 3D printed armies all ready for Old World, at a cost of about $10.00 USD.

Lots of people just don't like GW Discourse minis is one of them. Even back in the 80s I remember people saying GW were doomed, their minis were to expensive, this business model was flawed and they were driving away all their customers and yet they are still here, still one of, if not, the biggest wargaming companies about still making a profit. What ever happens it's unlikely there will be a Warhammer disaster, lots of moaning for sure, but GW will no doubt do alright out of the Old World.

I subscribe to the channel and I find it amusing when youngsters wax on about nostalgia. Anyway, I was excited about TOW until this latest nothing burger.

I wanted to see a Heresy like launch box: packed with all new models at a great price point. The molds on the old Bretonnians are probably long paid for so that increases the margins. I suspect, however, that GW doesn't predict a lot of sales and cheaped out on production.

This makes AoS and the new Cities of Sigmar look a lot more attractive.

But can you use the 3Dprinted armies in a tournament? grin

Generally not and a definite no for Majors and GW events.

GW and historical gaming are not the same hobby.

True, one is fresh and invigorating, the other hasn't changed since 1993. Now the real question is: which one is which? 😝
