Having decided to do a side project for the DAK Attack Solo Game and my first venture into WW2 28mm ( I have 12mm collections ) ,I have collected together 6 Rubicon kits ( 4 1533 Chevy trucks and 2 Jeeps)and Artizan figures I am very pleased with my first completed Rubicon truck with stowage form the Honourable Lead Boiler Suit Company . I couldnt help noticing Warlord have just released a 30 CWT Ambulance for their LRDG range . It looks good but I am struggling to find a real picture of one in service . The nearest I can find is a 15 CWT medical truck and not a 30CWT as the Warlord model depicts . Can anyone spread any light on this as the LRDG is a new niche area for me with plenty of research still to do ? Did the LRDG operate 30CWT Chevy ambulances or medical trucks If they didnt then I may be better off turning to the Company B model of the 30CWT Chevy ambulance as I know they scale smaller than Rubicon and may look more "im Scale" as the lighter 15CWT cousin. Any thoughts . Thanks guys in advance |

I don't think either the LRDG or the SAS had specific vehicles for ambulances. |

It depends on the period. Also, there was a Medical Staff truck, usually occupied by "Doc" Lawson. This HQ vehicle could go on missions but would not go on the actual raid. It would hide away at the rendezvous point, often with a resupply vehicle. Then returning raiders could avail themselves of better medical care. Then there were Medical Supply trucks that carried a medical orderly, medical supplies in a cooled compartment and a stretcher on the side. The stretcher was often the only medical marking on the truck. This vehicle would be part of the 6 vehicle 1/2 patrol. Here is the excellent site from which I quoted most of the info: lrdg.de/vehicles1.htm |

My group also plays DAK Attacks and have enjoyed it. Most of my vehicles are Rubicon, but I have some great Perry Miniatures ones also. Most of my dismounted figures are the Perry 8th Army infantry. And they are very close in scale to the Rubicon figures. |

As you can tell, I'm quite excited about this period! Here's a pic from Jr General's website:
And here is the link to "LRDG" search on same site. cheers! PS Save for a larger image. |

Thanks guys the info so far and has been very useful . d88mm1940 has given me an idea. The Perry's do an F40 and so does Company B .There may be something here I could look at .The Perry's model may be easier to work with as the rear does have some spare space if the Boys rifle is left off .Hmmm |

Trying to post pics from Facebook without success. Here's a link to 4 pics I just posted. 2 are battlefields, one is a shot off the aircraft that the DAK Attack LRDG players love to shoot up. The final pic is all of my vehicles. Most have removeable loads so that I can reconfigure them. For instance, the CMP has either a 37mm Bofors or an Italian 20mm Breda. Most MG's are on posts that match up to tubes so I can change the type (MMG, LMG, etc). facebook.com/joe.sudek.3 |

Agreed. It is probably because you do not want anything to do with Facebook. Much to be said for that, but a shame we cannot all see the images. |

I have a Medical Supply truck in my LRDG Force. I used an Anyscale miniatures Chevy and added a rack, a seated trooper and the stretcher (besides some water cans, fuel cans and boxes). Sadly i dont have a better picture, but i guess this one shows the idea link |
