Another scary thing, these are "supposed" to be "our top schools". These are our future leaders, judges, educators? These same students screaming their support of Hamas and shouting "death to America!". It should make one cringe.

Hamas killed our citizens and still holds some hostage.

At least Robert Kraft is stopping his support of the college he graduated from. Cutting off their money is the only way to stop this.

The Anti-Israeli pro-Hamas riots are not by accident. They are planned and very well funded. The students are "useful dupes". Many of the rioters are not even students, but there to get the riot going. They are "agents" of a number of Deleted by Moderator groups. I don't see where the federal government "Our Leaders" can do all that much to student protest. Especially as most are non-violent. Remember when the national guard intervened at Kent State. We ended with a blood bath. I am not thrilled with what they are doing but there is an amendment that gives freedom of speech. Even speech we don't like.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP24 Apr 2024 1:24 p.m. PST

Grattan54 There are limitations to the first amendment, as I'm sure you already know. I'm not going to list them, I did that earlier in TMP.

"The First Amendment doesn't protect intimidation and harassment, nor license the ability to say anything, at anytime, anywhere."

"Hate speech may be offensive and hurtful; however, it is generally protected by the First Amendment. One common definition of hate speech is "any form of expression through which speakers intend to vilify, humiliate or incite hatred against a group or a class of persons on the basis of race, religion, skin color, sexual identity, gender identity, ethnicity, disability or national origin." Courts have ruled that restrictions on hate speech would conflict with the First Amendment's protection of the freedom of expression. Since public universities are bound by the First Amendment, public universities must adhere to these rulings. However, universities also have an obligation to create a safe, inclusive learning environment for all members of the campus community.
With these considerations in mind, courts in the United States have found that expression generally cannot be punished based on its content or viewpoint. Thus, although hate speech, alone, receives constitutional protection, any expression that constitutes a true threat, incitement to imminent lawless action, discriminatory harassment or defamation can be punished by UWM for those reasons."

There are Jewish students who have expressed to fear for their persons and have been heavily intimidated on these campuses due to things being shouted at them, threats and in a few cases, physical harm.

Some will say shouting "Death to America! Death to Isreal! From the river to the sea!" and others, are protected. But if I yell at Issac Goldstein: "Death to Issac Goldstein!", that speech is no longer protected, as it constitutes a true threat and Issac is in fear for his life.

I am an American. When you shout "Death to America!", you are threatening me, my family, my friends and my country. I feel a very personal threat. How am I to know that those shouting that, don't have plans for another 9/11 or 10/6? I don't and we don't. At that point, IMO, it no longer falls under free speech.

The government does not have to send in troops. Here are some things they easily could do.

1) is the person a citizen of this country? No, revoke anything like student visas if here legally and send them back. Illegally, for sure send them back.
2) are they getting taxpayer sponsored loans or scholarships to attend? Revoke them. Make them pay back immediately what they have used up.
3) cut off funding to Colleges who refuse to curtail and suspend students.

Just 3 easy things.

As citizens, stop supporting these schools if you are an alumni. Don't send your kids to those schools. Pull your kid out if they attend. Of course the last 2 only work if you are paying their bill, but my bet is most of those out there, don't pay their own. They wouldn't be out there if they did.

My bet is also, the above would account for 85% of those in the streets. I doubt seriously they have any interest in an education.

Anyone who could shout "I am Hamas!" or "We are all Hamas!" Couldn't.

Subject: Citizen Free Press on X: "This is an actual interview with NYU Hamas sympathizers. They have no idea what they are protesting against. But they are certain that virtue signaling is very important

There is something called "Protest Culture" on the American Left. We had a neighbor who has built his social life around Protest Culture. I kid you not, he had a garage full of protest signs, and he involved his wife and two kids. So one day he pulls out the Save the Earth! signs and they drive off to march for that. The next day it's Gay Rights are Human Right! and they drive off to march for that. Then the My Body My Choice! signs for another protest march.

I've walked through some of these, not hard to find in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it's an entire subculture. People hook up with their friends, they bring Pot Luck meals, their kids play together, and they share what I guess you could say is almost a secular religious service. And if you ask critical questions, they get upset -- because they DON'T KNOW much about any issue they are marching for. The Issue itself isn't important as long as it's approved for the day, it's groupthink and group identity and how it makes them FEEL.

If you're asking questions in a "I'd like to know more to try and support you" way they always have event organizers, sometimes even wearing a reflective green or orange vest to identify them as an "official," and that person has all the issue and ideology knowledge. Maybe call them a Lay Pastor? And they will suspiciously engage you -- they want converts but will quickly identify you as a critic and if you are labeled as a critic they will actually ask you to leave! They may get aggressive and they call their internal security to harass you and make you uncomfortable, all the nice people you've been chatting with will shun you and leave. Their security and lay pastor basically will maneuver you out of the protest area.

Also, I've spoken to people who had a change of mind about things they were protesting for, and when they do they get treated like an apostate. First the organizer types will talk to them and ask them what's going on, and then they are told they are being confused by propaganda, let's set you straight, and so on. If they persist with questions they get hit with emotional manipulation -- don't you care about injustice, if this helps people, isn't that the most important thing. If they still persist they are slandered and shunned, they are labeled names, their protest culture "friends" will shun them and shame them until they rejoin -- if they don't react by rejoining the group they are outcast and all their protest friends cut ties.

So…I guess it's a Cult, really. The people in the Cult get a moral compass "I am good because I fight oppression," and they have a structured belief system and community that comforts them in some way and fills their spiritual or emotional needs.

Oh, and I think people also use this Cult behavior to project internal angst onto external "threats," and to feel more moral than others, and to feel edgy and daring. They can throw rocks and set fires to tires and such because they are doing this in a civil society with a legal system that is not cruel and arbitrary – the police will not use excessive force or shoot them down (like they would say, in Iran or Venezuela). It is actually very safe to be a protester from the Left in the US and the West. People know they can act out with little repercussion because there are politicians and Leftist groups who support the disruptions and will help them against the legal system to shield them from consequences.

So my guess is that there's actually only a small % of the American populace that's in the Cult or Cult-Adjacent, but they are noisy and disruptive and get amplified by the media and used by politicians to get what they want.

After 9/11, the Metro entrance to the Pentagon (which had previously and very conveniently run right up into the building) was rebuilt to physically separate the station escalators, so you came up from the station outside the building, and walked in through an entrance on the exterior of the building.

From about 2003 through (roughly) 2006, the top of that escalator was posted every morning by a large crowd of chanting protestors. Every morning, I got off the escalator and walked past them, under the supervision of the security personnel who fenced them off from the people they were shouting at. And every morning – every single morning – there was a man (the exact same man) in the front rank, beating a drum that said "Free Tibet."

Someone was paying for that. I would guess the cost is divided about fifty-fifty between the American taxpayer and some network of "NGOs" that presumably tied in to foreign intelligence services somewhere along the way.

I can guarantee that in this case, the pro-Hamas protests, that there are foreign agents involved. At UC Berkeley, for example, some of the protest leaders and organizers are foreign faculty from the Middle East, mostly Iranian or with ties to Iran.

I don't see where the federal government "Our Leaders" can do all that much to student protest. Especially as most are non-violent.
The College can't do anything but suspend the students. I certainly hope the FBI, ICE, etc. should be there looking for illegal aliens, expired visas, terrorists, and other members of the criminal element. etc.

Remember when the national guard intervened at Kent State. We ended with a blood bath.
Yes, I live about an hour away from Kent. The current NG troops are better trained and experienced. Kent State was a very long time ago. Things changed with all the wars against islamic terrorists, the Iraqi Army, the Taliban, etc.

So yes, I remember what happened. I wouldn't say it was a blood bath. However, too many people died and were injured in that engagement. The Military has long reviewed what occurred to avoid this type of thing happening again. Note: many times, the NG has deployed in the US, and no one died or was injured. They are on the TX border right now.

I am not thrilled with what they are doing but there is an amendment that gives freedom of speech. Even speech we don't like.
What they are doing is not a peaceful protests or assembly. Some are not even students. These riots are supported/funded by Hamas, other islamicists, and certain polarized very well-funded groups in the USA.

35th said it best …

"The First Amendment doesn't protect intimidation and harassment, nor license the ability to say anything, at anytime, anywhere."
Bingo !.

A long, long time ago. When I was a Rifle Plt Ldr in the 101. We trained for riot control missions. Just in case … I don't think any of these supporters of Hamas, etc. would like how we were trained to handle situations like these islamic inspired riots.

SBminisguy28 Apr 2024 8:24 a.m. PST

Remember when the national guard intervened at Kent State. We ended with a blood bath.

Yes -- I watched the footage to make my own decision and I see at the point of decision, a huge mob of people had chased a smaller contingent of poorly trained NG up to a small hillock where the were blocked by a fence behind them, and the mob was starting to lap around their side. There's a break in the action as both sides try to regroup, then the mob gets fired back up and charges across the road, or parking lot, at the NG and that's when shots happen.

The NG leadership were stupid – they sent x100 NG to disperse a mob of x2500 people who had already been violent -- with no support?? A unit with no riot control training or non-lethal weapons? But the mob leadership instigated the action, kept rallying the mob to attack -- so they are still the ones who drove the fatal encounter.

Blame to go around, but it wasn't a "Massacre" so much as a blunder on both sides, I'd call it more of a FAFO incident.

It is reported the Israelis are going to go into Rafah soon. To cleanse the area of Hamas terrorists, etc. The hostages may be freed. Or some found dead. Remember the IDF is dealing islamic radical terrorists. We should not be surprised at anything they do. Pray they are found alive. Hamas and other jihadis should get little quarter from the IDF.

Those hostages include many Americans. We may never know if US Delta and SEALs, etc. are operating with the IDF Spec Ops units. Hunting all our hostages and terminate with extreme prejudice any members of Hamas or any other jihadis. The only good islamic jihadi is a dead one.

It is also being reported that the Israelis are briefing the US Gov't about this attack on Rafah. Too bad the IDF has to answer to the US leaders in the WH/DC. To fight & win this conflict.

Most assuredly Hamas will hide behind their own people to use them as human shields and pawns in Hamas's propaganda media plans.

Much blood will be shed. And it won't be mostly the IDFs … That will be only way this conflict will end and in the IDF's favor.

Gunny B04 May 2024 6:14 a.m. PST

Can't see many of the remining hostages coming out of this alive L4. Would love to be wrong but, considering the Islamic vermin the IDF are dealing with, you think Hamas will leave them alive when the writings on the wall and they are in their last firefight?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP04 May 2024 8:56 a.m. PST

Yes, sadly that may be the outcome … Dead Jewish hostages at the hands of islamic terrorists … Which again is really barbaric, medieval, etc. And probably those Hamas, etc., murders and their supporters that are not killed in the melee. Those murderous survivors will never be brought to justice for their horrendous acts.

Plus again, many in the US who were/are rioting, many of which are not even moslems. But those rioters make Hamas, Iran, etc. think they can continue to on their "jihad" as they have support by some in the US.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP06 May 2024 5:46 a.m. PST

Dagwood sadly there are many protesting on our campuses who believe the same thing, that the 7th was fabricated or not what Israel say it was. Of course there are those who believe the US was responsible for 9/11. 😔

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP06 May 2024 8:02 a.m. PST

Yes, those that support Hamas and any other islamic terrorists, etc. from the US are very misinformed. And of course, no surprise that 70% of Palestinians support Hamas. As they are taught from an early age to hate Israel and even the USA for supporting them. Regardless how much $ and support of various types the US gives the Palestinians, many still hate the US.

The US education system and other institutions have been infiltrated by islamists, socialists, globalists, etc., etc. including the US Congress, etc. With support from many US "5th Columnists" who want to "fundamentally change America" … I.e. radicalizing US youth to support the islamic jihadi movement here in the USA. With lies, propaganda, etc. Of course, this didn't happen yesterday. It took years, getting people into the education system, gov't, etc.

The last 2 years of the previous admin gave 0 to the Palestinians, IIRC. As the US leadership then knew that most of anything going to the Palestinians would go to Hamas and other islamic terrorist in the area. E.g. Alexa Martyrs Bde., etc.

If 93% of Americans believe that 07 Oct didn't happen the way it did. With medieval, horrific barbarity, etc. just demonstrates how effectively this radical islamic dogma has been believed by "useful dupes", etc.

The of the educators at universities and even high schools, etc. just have proven they have drunk the islamic *kool aid*. Allowing certain things to occur at their institutions of learning. The e.g. Presidents and leaders, etc., of most of these universities, either support the islamists. And/or just don't have the strength and leadership abilities to stop this rioting with 0 tolerance. What is happening is not freedom of speech or assembly. It is rioting …

These substandard academics in charge(?) gave into the rioters' demands, many of which are not even students of those institutions. Even providing food, etc. to these rioters. I guess they missed the part of history about siege warfare. Cut them off by surrounding the "castle" as no food, water, etc. can't get in. Or would that be considered inhuman ? Bull%#$*& !!!!

The leadership starts at the very top. E.g. in the past Ike sent the 101 to a school in the South. To protect and allow black children to go to that all white school there. Of course none of our current leaders are anywhere near the leadership, experience, etc. like Ike had.

Yep ! Looks like the IDF is going on the offensive again in Gaza. Supporting prep fires are going in now … Hamas wants all of the IDF to leave Gaza. That is not going to happen. Hamas has to be severely crippled. Like what happened to ISIS.

And no surprise, Hamas is using the remaining hostages as pawns. If any are still alive ? I hope they are. But Hamas has nothing to really lose with most of Gaza being in ruins, and most of their terrorists being killed or captured …

They think they are winning with the Anti-Israeli, Pro-Hamas riots still going on in the US and elsewhere in the world. With the IDF of the attack, it will be hard for Hamas to claim victory if most of them are dead.

Gunny B07 May 2024 1:18 a.m. PST

Hamas has agreed to ceasefire? Only seen one report and that was from the Daily Mail so hardly solid. Anyone got anything else on this?

Gunny B07 May 2024 1:39 a.m. PST

Ah, ok. Usual reporting method so picking just certain elements from the statement as opposed to the reality….

'In a statement Monday, Hamas said the head of its political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, told the Qatari prime minister and Egyptian intelligence minister that the militant group had accepted their proposals for a ceasefire and hostage deal.

Palestinians celebrated that statement in the streets of Gaza, while in Tel Aviv, hostage families and their supporters implored Israel's leaders to accept the deal.

However, shortly afterwards, Israel said the terms Hamas had accepted were still far from meeting its "requirements," and reiterated its commitment to an offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, saying its war cabinet had "unanimously decided" to continue with the operation "to exert military pressure on Hamas." It did agree, though, to send a delegation to the mediators for further talks.'

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP07 May 2024 4:47 a.m. PST

Gunny, the link I posted was USNews and Reuters. It was also reported all over TV News and current administration representatives seemed VERY happy about the possibility yesterday. 😉.

Obviously Israel seems to think Hamas's supposed willingness, a bunch of crap and started hitting Rafah. I hope they eliminate Hamas once and for all.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP07 May 2024 7:11 a.m. PST

From what I can tell … Hamas's requirements for a ceasefire were not realistic, some would say even ridiculous. As already mentioned, here.

But with the current support for Hamas in the US and other places in the world. It is to their advantage to drag this conflict out. As they really don't care about how many of their people are killed in the melee. Which again plays into their favor.

Regardless, the IDF are attacking into Rafah. And even cut off the Rafah crossing point into Egypt. However, reports are this attack is limited. As reports are the IDF fears the US may limit sending them ammo, etc. Which IMO is also ridiculous for the US to do that.
