The producers of acclaimed television shows that focused on U.S. Army and Marine Corps units during World War II are turning their focus to the U.S. Army Air Forces. "Masters of the Air," which will focus on the 8th Air Force during its bombing campaign over Nazi Germany, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Jan. 26, 2024, the streaming service announced Oct. 5.

Now I've got to figure out a way to get access to Apple TV. For me this will me a "must watch" as my father was a flight engineer and top turret gunner on an 8th Air Force B-17.

I am with Jim. This is a 'must-see' but I do not have Apple TV. I may just wait for the DVD. I suspect it will be one I want to keep if it is as good as 'Band of Brothers'.

The appearance of this series makes me wonder once again why we never get anything comparable about the British in WW2. I know we had 'SAS Rogue Heroes' recently but that was quite stylised and the military detail questionable, especially when compared with 'Band of Brothers' or 'Saving Private Ryan'. After all there are plenty of comparable units and events to dramatise. '2 Para: from Ouda to Arnhem' anyone?

Add me in with the group who will pass on Apple TV (I have access but no desire to add another streaming service). And, with any luck, there will be DVDs and I can check them out from the library.

Access to Apple TV? This is on Apple TV+ the streaming service. All you need is a smart TV or Fire stick or even just your PC to use it.

As for the subscription it is like $7.99 USD/mo and they may have a free trial. Just download the app and watch the series once all the episodes have been released, then cancel the subscription.

I do wonder how many of these made for streaming movies/series do end up on DVD these days?
