Warhammer 40k rules are a constantly moving target – and an expensive one, at that. Can I move my 1000 Imperial Guard army over to Grimdark Future from One Page Rules? How will it translate?

Great video – I have been doing the same!

You can use the Grimdark Army Forge utility to see what options you have for translating your 40K army into Grimdark.

Battle Brothers comes to mind as a likely analog to Imperial Guard, but you might also look at the Custodian Brothers, the DAO Union, and the Prime Brothers.

You can keep a lot of army specific flavor in a figure agnostic system, and game mechanics are more streamlined allowing quick (quicker) play.

No fanboying about it. Just a better set of rules all around. Never caused us an argument. The rule logic carries between the rulesets so they are easy to switch between. Let's you play with your toys how you want.

Battle Brothers are the equivalent of Space Marines. My group has embraced One Page Rules and are not looking back. We've been using both the Grimdark and Fantasy army rules and the Grimdark skirmish set.

The"One Page Rules" are very nice for a "fast" game. Easy to understand, if your opposite is not so trained in this game. For my brother and me, this rules generated some fine games.

if you want a cool 40k game, try out the 41st millennium ruleset, built by someone who's been playing 40k since 5th ed.

OPR is fun although maybe a bit of extra detail wouldn't hurt in places! Can definitely recommend it as a more streamlined dynamic 40k alternative though, and your Guard analogue would be the Human Defence Force
