I have read of instances when commanders would order their troops to lie-down on the ground so as to avoid being hit by enemy fire while waiting to move. I think I have seen period sketches showing entire units laying down in formation. Does anyone make a miniature for prone figures that are not in the classic prone firing position? I guess that such figures would not make sense on a gaming table, however, they would look cool in a diorama.

Der Kreigspiellers/heritage did at one time. I believe they were snipers. I think I have a few of them I never used. But they are on their stomach on the ground with the rifle facing forward in a firing Position, which would be the "classic prone" position. 15mm.

I guess one could cut the rifle out and sculpt it to look like they are on their elbows. But what would they be doing without a rifle on the field. So prone in firing position, would be all I've seen.

I think Airfix HO Union figures have a crawling figure

Are you specifically looking for 15mm?

Sorry, I should have been specific. I am new to the ACW so either 15 or 25/28. I find the smaller scales to be too hard on my entering senior citizen status eyes.

DisasterWargamer, that was my first thought too!

Foundry have a total of three prone figures in their extensive range two Confederates in CWH10 and one Union in

I have been looking for 15mm prone ACW figures. As far as I know, nobody makes them.
