Somewhat similar to my technique.

I first start with a base of black (I usually prime white). Then my first layer is Bltgun metal/Iron Warriors (a dark metallic shade), followed by a black wash, chainmail/leadbelther drybrush (also with a flat, wide brush), followed with a final highlight of silver. If I want to keep things dingy, I might not do the final highlight. With this technique I can churn out the troops.

If I am painting mail, I always skip the silver as the last bit.

Those look very nice. I had not thought of using metallic blue.
