With the death of David MacCallum I did wonder was anyone left. You will find the answer at the very end of this. Willie The Tunnel King I did guess

Fascinating link. Be interesting to see this done for a few other "classic" war movies.

Magnificent Seven. All gone, even the girl from the village who was the token love interest.

Just for fun looked up the classic The Longest Day and was amazed how many were left from that film:
Richard Beymer, Paul Anka, Mark Damon, Peter Helm, Fabian (Forte), Tommy Sands, Sian Phillips, and Georges Riviere.

There may be others. Fun topic!

Right at the bottom, pleased to see William Russell, surprisingly no reference to his playing Ian Chesterton one of the first Doctor Who companions.
It was Tom Baker, just to continue the Who theme, who once said that the living are being increasingly entertained by the dead.

I did the dish washes tonight listening to and entertained by The Dead, maximum volume in North Yorkshire.

I just knew that I could recall William Russell from summat else. Surely the very first episode,as I remember so well, at a friend's house, as I assembled the Airfix Swordfish that I had bought him for his birthday
