Like the title says…

I'm wanting to build a unit of British Royal Marines for my 28mm Pirate Gaming, but am not sure of the colors, headgear, uniforms, etc.

Would there be a different variation for any that served in the Caribbean vs Europe? And what of standard garrison troops?

Is there a good reference to this (with photos and color plates)?

Thanks in advance.

Marines became 'Royal' in 1802 apparently.

They sort of looked like this

And I am not sure the original Marines had colours

If you aren't worried about being strictly historical, do them the way they looked in Black Sails. Red coats with tan small clothes and tan trim on the red facings.
