Recently picked up the Naval Command rules for modern Naval combat. Really looking forward to trying these as I've not played this era before. Wanting to focus on NATO vs PACT 'cold war gone hot' scenarios around the mid 70's to mid 80's. Mainly focusing on the Royal Navy ideally, because they're my home team.

What (preferably free and online) sources do you guys reccomend to do some reading on NATO and PACT formations throughout the cold war? Looking to start my collection by buying up a couple of existing formations from that time and then going from there.

Harpoon had/has a load of scenarios for WP vs NATO, but I can't find a link immediately.

However I have been playing an air game recently that is naval oriented, Red Storm: Baltic Approaches, set in 1989-ish.

It's got a lot of ship scenarios, mainly fighting off planes but some interesting ones engaging other ships with missiles.

I even made some ship silhouettes and data cards for it (shameless plug):

Have a look at the GMT site for a pdf of the scenarios for some ideas.

If not contact Dave Manley. This is his bread and butter and he's a great bloke who loves setting up games like this.

Hope this helps,

B
