I am trying to find a suitable set of rules for my new Jacobite Rebellion project. I want something fairly simple, so I am taking a shot at adapting the Valour and Fortitude rules to this period. Here is a link to what I have come up with so far. Any input would be appreciated.

I am also in the process of writing a set of rules suitable for the ‘45. My version is based on the General de Brigade rules system. You can see my initial thoughts here.

I'd like to be able to download this if possible. It's nice to see someone working on the 45.

Have you tried the Maurice rules? I use them for the ‘45 as the card play makes what can be a one-shot action more interesting. See the AAR at the link for an example in action.

The basic rules can be downloaded for free if you want to try before you buy.

Heh! So much new activity for this period these days!

Some years back, I crafted a variant of The Sword & the Flame rules suitable for Jacobite battles. "The Sword in the Heather" I call it. I'd like to submit it for sanctioned publication some day, once the situation over TS&TF rules and copyrights is clearer. All I can do with it at present is make it available to anyone who wants a copy of the PDF rules and charts (requires knowledge of the original rules to play; this is a variant, not a new game). Includes basic organizational material (but not "army lists" per se, altho' I do have a ton of this information at hand).

Anyone wanting a copy, PM me with an email address I can send the attachments to. They've been playtested extensively and work well. I once was a staff designer at TSR Hobbies, Metagaming, Coleco, so not entirely new to this business. Slainte!
