So these are fictional Tiger II tanks?

Bunkermeister Supporting Member of TMP22 Sep 2023 4:31 p.m. PST

They are model tanks, based on tanks converted for a movie that represent real WWII German Tiger II tanks in a movie that only vaguely followed historical facts.

So no they are real tank models.

I do contend Battle of the Bulge is so bad it is a must see
Probably seen it 50 times.

Other than the hopeless scenery, the wrong vehicles, the awful special effects, the German HQ straight out of James Bond, what is wrong with the film? Not Robert Shaw at his best.

In the UK it is like The Great Escape. If you have the TV on you have no choice but suffer it two or three times a year.

My oldest brother (14 years my senior) took me to see Battle of the Bulge at the premier at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood when I was 6 years old.

I remember it well. They had a real tank in the parking lot as part of the promotions. Guessing it was a Chaffee, but I don't actually know (I was 6, after all).

It made a BIG impression on me.

I will always love the look of Chaffees and M47 Pattons. I went home and started playing army, and playing with toy tanks.

I've been obsessed with tanks for the 57 years since. It all started there and then.
