It's probably way too late, but in 2016 I backed about $100 USD for a project. I never heard anything more about it nor did I get my reward for it. I don't pledge too often, so I forgot about it. I happened to be on Kickstarter today looking for the status of another project and I saw this one. It seems that it was successful. I am not sure of the course of action other than contacting the company that started the project. Any suggestions?

Did you get the e-mail notifications that the campaign was successful, and your card would be charged? Was your card in fact charged?

I have pledged quite a few and always get e-mails whether the project is successful or not.

If they took your money and are still in business, I would try and contact them with verification that you pledged and were charged but never got the product. Given the amount of time that has passed that is about all you can do. And make sure you are getting notifications from KS for future pledges!

Contact the company. If you have any emails about shipping verification or your pledge you'll need that.

I have had at least two or three people in each of my kickstarters who despite repeated emails and KS messages, never respond back or pay their shipping fees. Thus, they never got their stuff. I'd say contact the company and make sure you have gotten them all the information they need.

Ditto what David / Splintered Light said.

I got taken by the Studio X paint case mentioned above.
Also got taken by the VinylSonic record player and cleaner Kickstarter.

All good examples of why you shouldn't pay up front for something that doesn't exist yet. Live and learn.

I got burnt once. After that, I only back Kickstarters from companies I know. If a product is that nice, I'll wait for it to come to retail. If it doesn't, then I'm not out anything.
