Hello! I'm painting some ACW infantry Zouave units in 10mm. I remember reading about their distinctive uniforms and didn't want to make an egregious mistake. How far into the war did most Zouave units manage to keep their distinctive regalia? Were any units still wearing colorful vests, red trousers, or fezzes by 1863? Thanks.

Yes, many union units did until the end of the war.

Actually some units took up Zouave uniform during the war – and wore them for the rest of the war; the 114 PA wore Zouave uniform, for example, for the whole war

Excellent! Thanks. At 10mm, the different paint will help me tell the Zouave units apart much more easily.
