Hi All,

Just some pics here of the first play-test game we tried this weekend.

The scenario based on the fighting between the Separatist 'DPR' forces, and Ukrainian defenders somewhere in Donetsk Oblast, circa 2014-15.

Armed with suggestions from the buds, there will be some good tweaks in-coming before the next Ukrainian scenario hits the table (hopefully next month).

Are those Confederate battle flags on those tanks?

Not exactly, but Novorossiya was the temporary stunt they called the confederation project of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. This was its flag.
I always asked myself if that idea was somehow inspired by that stupid Texan Commie Russel Bentley.

Twilight 2000 suspiciously begins to look like an Army Field Manual for Weird War III.
He's gotten pretty fat in the last few years, is Russ still alive?

Fanatastic looking game. Very nice tabletop. What figures did you use for your infantry? My humble Donbas collection is GHQ vehicles and Mainforce infantry.

Thank you PAR!

I was able to get fire team stands, RPG teams, and ATGW teams out those Pegasus sets.

I appreciate the link, never would have thought of the Pegasus miniatures, I like your solution to basing.

The Novorossiya flags look great as do the Ukrainian markings.

I've been happy to see that my original Conflict collection, which I started before the wholesale Russian invasion in 2022, seems capable of modeling the nature of the ground engagements even as of today (mainly by reinforced-company forces – "CTGs").

However, as I tried to get accurate with the 2014-15 era insignia, this does lock the collection into more of the earlier conflict fighting (not that the guys here would care much on these details anyway).

I did recently order some Humvee models – M1151A1s & 1152s-(pickups), to do some tree-trench raid scenarios with, circa 2023, but most of my current models are legacy equipment stuff for the earlier conflict.

Btw, I've got one T-72 painted up w/o insignia or distinctive markings……as a "go-between".
