Found some pictures on my phone of a 15mm Aztec army I painted up for Irregular Wars. The sculpts are the old Gladiator range sculpted by Josef Ochmann, I think I painted them up about 5 years ago:

Very nice.

Great looking miniatures. Must have been really bizarre to be attacked by jaguar, lizard and eagle people!

It was indeed bizarre for both sides. A true class of cultures.

Holy crap, that's one awesome-lookin' army. Your shading skills are most laudable. I'm assuming you did these the old school way of layering each color, as opposed to employing a wash? I also dig the accompanying captions that incorporated gameplay notes.

I had to look up Josef Ochmann. Too bad he's not better known, as sculpting of this quality is rare in 15mm.

Not sure whether I am inspired to start doing mine – or intimidated :)
Lovely work.

Rocco (and that's a heck of a username!), it was base color and one hilight. I gloss varnish and use a mixed wash (3 parts AP strong, 3 parts AP dark, 1 part AP blue wash and 6 parts medium). Once that's dry and basing is done, I hit them with Tamiya matte. I let the different varnishes and the wash do the work for me.

Yes, they were great minis and you have really done them justice!
