Does anyone know of a good source for minor local rivalries or conflicts? |

That's what I mean. But is there a listing of the various local conflicts? Or maybe a book on the subject? |

I think the opposite is more interesting in that indentures often mentioned who could not be expect to fight against. |

I'm afraid that I cant help you with a book listing all the minor local rivalries. I suspect that many went undocumented. My 'favorite' as I am from the West Country, is the Bonville- Courtenay feud. It has everything! Seiges, raids, murders, home invasions and culminates in 'the Fight at St Clyst'. I suspect much of the raiding and lawlessness was not recorded – it really was the wild west! Here's a link to the Wiki article: link |
