I have references stating that there was a Cuirasier unit and a Garde du Corps unit. I cannot find any painting guides for these units or even what kind of uniforms they wore. Any help would be appreciated.

From the Rawkins CD:

The Squadrone Gendarmeria Scelta (Elite Gendarmes) was created in September 1806 by Joseph Bonaparte and was intended to emulate the Elite
Gendarmes of the Imperial Guard. The unit was intended to be a large squadron of six companies, however, cost, lack of quality mounts and trained cavalrymen meant that Joseph's plans for the unit were shelved and in 1807 the gendarmes were reduced to a single company. In 1813 the company
became the cadre for the newly raised Reggimento Corazzieri.

The Reggimento Corazzieri (Cuirassier Regiment) was the only true heavy cavalry unit in the Neapolitan Army. Although Murat had attempted on several occasions to add both cuirassier and dragoon regiments to his army this development was always strongly opposed by Napoleon who considered the cost to outweigh any value that Neapolitan heavy cavalry might bring to the Grand Armee. The regiment was raised in March 1813 from the Squadrone Gendarmeria Scelta and two squadrons of the Reggimento Guardie d'Onore, some of Murat's best trained and experienced cavalry.

Murat's high expectation for the regiment never came to fruition, the planned cuirasses, helmets and weapons were never purchased, the heavy horses were not available, and the regiment was forced to adopt the uniform worn by the Squadrone Gendarmeria Scelta and remained in that uniform for the whole of its short existence. In the same way that Murat's proposal for a dragoon regiment never got any further than proposed dress regulations and designs his plans for the armoured heavy cavalry regiment failed to get into practice, although his flamboyant designs for the proposed uniforms outlived the regiment
