For the Shorehammer wargame convention this fall, I've been working on a new battle mat--one made with teddy bear fur.

As part of that project, I've built about 50 jungle trees without bases. Instead, I'm equipped them with 2.5-inch needles that I can push through the fur mat and into underlying insulation foam.

This will allow me to have trees that seemingly rise out of the ground, must as in real life.

Hardly a novel idea. But I did some other cool things to my trees, such as increasing their height to a realistic 12" to 16", and tried out a new approach to the foliage.

I can't seem to get it to publish on this site, so I'm including a link thecorvuscluster.com/2023/09/10/building-plug-in-jungle-trees if you'd like to take a look.

Thanks.

"2.5-inch needles "

Oo-er, that sound's really dangerous!
