Interesting (and important) that the case was brought in an Italian court, that an international court rejected the principal of German liability, and that the Italian government is going to pay (presumably to make the issue go away, but Iwould guess there are domestic political angles involved of which I am unaware). The ICC has been notorious of exerting jurisdiction on the thinnest of pretexts, but I am glad to see they rejected it here. |
