All, your thoughts: O Group or BKC4? I own and have played quite a few BKC4 games; I find the system enjoyable, and as a battalion level game, pretty convincing in matching "real world" results. You can simulate a typical action using some of what you learned at staff college pretty well…I don't like the fairly abstract command rules; the command roll itself is fine, but the HQ/CO existing as conglomerations of command and control nodes instead of actual BN/RGT/BDE command units a bit "wonky" to deal with. Never played O Group, but thought about a purchase. I've generally like TFL systems for their adherence to "real world" OOB and how they actually work, but the drawback there is added complexity, with often limited extra "fun" gains. Seen a few reviews, but they rarely answer my questions about what is different between the two systems. So, the collective hive mind's thoughts?? (and yes, I know someone in the mists of past posts this question was likely already asked, but I struggle to find good success with TMP's search features). Thanks in advance… |
