We played the last of Jonathan Jones' three scenarios from his book O'er the Hills Early Peninsular War that cover the main attack at Talavera on July 28, 1809.

I would say that I like the rules for brigade to corps level games, a bit crunchy at times and a fair number of modifiers to work in for fire and combat, which is not to everyone's liking. There are morale rules that we don't play, interesting but complicated, especially with larger battles. What I especially like about these rules is that skirmish battles are well represented and good tactics seem to reward players with good results. We use the order rules but have simplified a few things for playability, like formation changes. It is not a quick play set of rules, however, if that is what someone s looking for.
