Such great-looking stuff, and the frames are loaded with stowage/options!

They even cut them off the sprue runners for us – now that's service. ;)

Thanks for the previews Ed.

Lol, those are renders as you already know. :) And yes lots of stowage including spare tracks. I ordered 2 sets.

Looking at those sprues you can only make an 76mm armed M4A1, wrong hull for 75mm armed tanks?

JMcCarroll01 Sep 2023 2:15 p.m. PST

M4A1 were also used for 75mm guns. 75mm Shermans were produced even post WW2.

From what I was told elsewhere the 75 Shermans had the small hull hatches. These have the large ones. About 100 or so were made with large hatches but most of them were converted to DD Shermans.

The last of the M4A1 75s were produced in the 4th quarter of 1943. Production of the M4A1 76s began in the first quarter of 1944. All 76 armed M4A1 (both VVSS and then later the HVSS versions) were done at the Pullman Standard Car Company exclusively. PSC, in anticipation of the new 76 armed M4A1s, began switch over to the large hatch models in the 4th quarter of 1943.

Having half the tanks being 75 armed on this hull really is a problem.

What do you mean, "those are renders"? Victrix spent millions developing anti-gravity hover sprues. grin

Got them today, did a quick build on one. Needs a little sanding due to what looks like a mold mismatch.

The large hatch 75mm Sherman did see action in NWE, there are some pictures of them in Normandy in the James Holland book on the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry.

It should be reasonably easy to convert them to Sherman M4/MkI composites/hybrids with the cast glacis front and welded rear hull using thin plastic card hull sides and putty.

If you buy Victrix M4A1 and M4A3 kits, you can swap the turrets around to get 76mm M4A3s. The 75mm turrets appear to be the same in both kits, so should be interchangeable. Can anyone with both kits confirm this?

You might be able to increase diversity in your tank park by putting Victrix Firefly parts in the mix, too.
