One of the games played at this month's meeting of the DWG was a Charles S. Grant rear-guard scenario, refashioned around the French defence of the crossing at Berezina.
David got his Russians and snowy terrain out to entertain the chaps with this famous Napoleonic encounter.

That's one of history's battles that I've always thought would be difficult to recreate on the tabletop. The French are an exhausted army. |

Very good, enjoyed the write up Just read Alexander Mikaberidze's Battle of the Berezina, which gives the basis for a couple of interesting scenarios in and around the crossing of the river. Our last big game was Borodino, perhaps we need to work along the timelines to this one next ! cheers |
