Anyone ever tried scaling up Chain of Command to a company level with 15mm minis? Does it play well? I know they have rules to accommodate bigger games but I don't think I have read many reviews or after action reports featuring the bigger games.

What is your preferred rule set at the company level?

We tried this once, and it seemed to run well. I was concerned that it would take significantly more time than a platoon sized game. It was longer, though not a matter of having three times as many figures on the table as usual made the game run three times as long. In any case, we were all kept busy, so it wasn't a problem.

Ran many BIG Chain of Command Games and works well. Best if you have at least 3 players on each side. Each side then has a "Company Commander" which is a really cool aspect of BIG Chain of Command. It can be downloaded for free here:

Big CoC works quite well. Ideally you want to have at least one player per platoon on each side, e.g. 3 per side for a company level game with 3 platoons per side. May take a little longer than a normal CoC game but certainly not multiple times as long. We have also done unbalanced games with 3 platoons attacking against two defending which works but the the points scheme doesn't really deal with an uneven numbers of platoons since some are actually negative points values so that requires some thought for how to balance.

Or just use the rules for I Ain't Been Shot, Mum but use the variant which activates units by dice like Chain of Command. Just ask all the Two Fat Lardies folks on this forum or via TFL facebook, etc.
