Resin printing is killing you..!

Interesting video on YouTube.

Another hurdle if everyone is to have one in their home by 2024.

He talks about resin fumes and that the carbon filters only seen to remove the smell.

Then he gets a stonking big gubbinz that seems to work ok.

A lot of hassle though, so I guess resin is probably out for most people and the size of the box to lug home from Kmart would be ridiculous.

I Wonder what filament gives off?

I did have a plastics chap check some plastic once, he heated it on a knife and inhaled. Seemed to know what it was though.

5 minutes was enough to confirm that resin printing is a bad idea.

I find it odd that the printer isn't more contained, air tight. Then it's just a tube out the window, to vent before opening, and if required for the printer.

Still wonder about filaments also.

Abs needs drying as it absorbs water. Not sure what comes off with the vapour when it's heated.

I have a 7 x 9 x 8' growing room setup in my basement. I have 9+ printers in it at any time. I have two vent tubes running fans to the outside via basement windows.

I do wear gloves latex gloves when handling the finished product and cleaning them. I think I will start wearing my N95 masks again.
